Hello everyone - I need some help with a current situation regarding my step-daughter's new Shi-poo.

Two weeks after the dog was given as a gift, we noticed his skin always had a bad rash, along with flakiness in his hair. We first thought it was my step-daughers dad who was using human shampoo, but when we talked to him about it, he said he was using puppy shampoo. Needless to say he needed a bath almost daily.

So - we tried several things then took it to a vet, the Vet said the dog had a hereditary mites that is affecting his skin, and there is nothing we can do to get rid of it, that this will be a problem as long as we have the dog. We purchased about $200 worth of meds which we feed him twice a day.

We contacted the breeder and she basically said "Though $h!t" and that there was nothing she could do.

She is suppose to be a breeder of several different types of dogs and has a kennel. The breeder did say we could take it to the humain society and let them have it.

Needless to day, with the purchase of the dog, and all the meds, we are hitting at close to $1,000 and we will have to continue to supply medicines for as long as he is alive.

Can anyone help with some ideas on how to approach the breeder myself? Or if she is a breeder, an organization that might give me some pointers to shut her down.

Sounds like you got took.The breeder can not be a good one if they are selling mixed breeds for more theen you can get them at the Shelter.
There is nothing you can do if you did not get a contract from the breeder .By the sound of her you did not and are now where you are.
This is what happens when one does not really look into the breeder before not after you buy.
