Default hi were new

i am mummy to a 13 week old alaskan malamute called deisel and would like to know why he digs his water out of his dish instead of drinking it, is this normal behaviour as i have a 2 and a half year old japenese akita and she never did any strange things as a pup, any advice would be much apprieciated. thanks amanda

I have siberian huskies, and 2 of mine have done this, there are many theories as to why they do it, but I think it's just because it's fun for them, Both of my dogs that did this stopped when I got them a baby pool, and seeing as how he is only 13 weeks old, you can train him to stop. Here are my sibes dogster pages, if you click on the dogster plus photo book you can see all of the pics on each page.

Yes they are very similar, Mals are larger than huskies, and are generally used as freighting dogs, where as huskies are smaller, and faster so they are mainly used for sledding. They don't chew anymore then any other breed, my dogs have never destroyed anything in my of mine, they just play with their toys. I always make sure from an early age that they have lots of toys, and I have never had a problem, with them trying to chew on furniture, or anything else for that matter. Do you have pics of Diesel? I would love to see some.

Well, I just made dogster pages for mine, that way it's easy to post pics it's free, and the dogster site is quite informative, alot of the people from here have actually gone to dogster, and made pages for there dogs, that way you can post pics anywhere you want, on there you just copy, and paste the URL, otherwise you could get a photobucket account which is alo free. Good luck!

hi, yes chaya is a big pup at 2 and a 1/2 years old!! had a look at your dogs also they are beautiful looking dogs, how many do you have altogether?? i found that diesel is a bit nippy and very destructive, the last victim being my new garden plants and my newly planted grass seed there is a huge hole in the garden!!amanda

I have 3 right now, Mariya, Jonah, and Luna, all red & whites.
Hailey, and Olympia both passed away due to illness in their old age. If Diesel is digging holes, fill the holes with his poop, and cover with dirt, that put a stop to my guys digging, and then I made a designated spot for them to dig, and they only dig there now.
