Is Bichon Frise o.k to stay at home alone for sometime? Or they like to be in the Company?

Dogs are social animals and probably prefer to be in the company of others. However, I do think that most dogs are just fine if left alone for a few hours though. My sister's friend has a Bichon and he is a real sweetheart.
