Default Any veterinarians here?

I've always wanted to be a vet and I'll probably take that path after a couple more years in college.

If you are a vet and have any advice (schools, difficulty, type of practice, etc.), I would surely appreciate it.

I'm not, I'm just sometimes volunteer on near shelter house.

Google "become veterinarian" and I'm sure there's a lot of information you need.

I too am not a vet, but do volunteer occasional at my local clinic also. It's an excellent way to get your feet wet, and see if the job is really something that interests you. What you'll usually find in most cases is that it requires 4 years to get your BA - and then another 4 years of college at an actual school of Veterinary Medicine. Look at spending 8 years in college, as a veterinarian.

Google-ing is great advice. You'll find tons of other information online.

It was a dream of mine before to become a vet, but because studying medicine is very costly and takes years to finish, I didn't pursue it. I'm kinda impatient.

Default Imo

Another one who dreamed of it but couldn't do it for money reasons.
I am a breeder now, so that takes the edge off the regret, mostly.
What I sometimes wonder is whether I would have been able to deal with the stuff like abused animals, neglected animals, accident victims, stuff like that? The things that animals are subjected to by humans?
I think in being a vet you have to be in large part a human psychologist as well, to be able to deal with peoples issues, because at the end of the day it is the people you really are having to deal with upfront, and you can't get into the position where you hate the people because of what they do to their animals, can you?
I think now that I probably would have been better off on the research side, lab studies or something.
