link problems on this site

is it just me or is this a site problem? Any time i click on a link like the link to read unread posts or to start a new thread.ect... ia popup window comes up every time for netflix this is every single time. frustrating. anyone else have this problem?

YES! I get more than just that one--about 3 or 4 of them---one is trying to sell a lap top (I think---I am in such a hurry to get them off I try not to even look at the damn ad! Then there is one about finding your classmates or something like that. Another member in here said the same thing (to me on the phone) It seem like this just started happening a couple weeks ago. It is sure pissing me off and the dogs prob. think I'm nuts cause I start cussing out loud and I am the only one here besides the 2 dogs!

Those people that I wanted to maintain contact with, I still do. As for the rest of them, I have no desire to see or hear from them. Nor do I have any desire WHATSOEVER to pay for the dubious honour...

I just started to have this problem a couple weeks ago. It is really irritating. I get the same ones- NetFlix, Classmates, and the laptop one.

There is a sad sad lack of any admin on here.........that being said pop ups are ways to help pay for the site........so - sucks for us. Wish this site would have on hands active people in admin for daily issues.

That would certainly help...Would any of us be willing to volunteer for a specific amount of time per week?

I would if I knew what I was doing. I'm self taught on the computer and there is a lot I don't know how to do. Suppose if someone showed me how to go about things.... It would have to be simple--not involve using flash player and other things as I don't have them in my computer .

flash player is a program you download onto your computer. it is a program that allows other programs to run. you dont do anything with it as far as i now.I may be wrong but i too am self taught.

Yeh, and that is the problem--I can't get it to work--same goes with other kinds of thing---Seems like they always need me to put some other program or whatever in before they can add it---And then I see so many 'rules-laws' on everything and also my computer warning me if I want to do this or that, etc. If I remember this right--I have explorer 9 (I think!) and in order to get some things I am suppose to upgrade that 1st. I'm just not that confident about messing around with these things I tried to do something a while back and the computer froze up on me--so another reason I don't like to mess with these things. Some day my granddaughter is going to come over and 'fix' things for me!!

always remember you can always go into system tools and do a restore to an earlier time like months before. if you ever mess something up thats how i learned how to do what i know.
you know what is funny though since i right clicked on the popup and went to properties and got the address from there where it was originating from i for some reason have not seen another popup. not sure why unless admins took care of it.

do u mean help run the forum? Have you ever done that? First the owner of the site would have to be willing to give you access to the site...its not something that you do with anyone as they can destroy the site too (certainly not saying you would) BUT if admin is not there to help you and back you then you are left just as frustrated as not having one around. I run my own site and admin on several its not all that easy....and I used to admin on a site that the owner would never ever get back 2 u on important issues......shame- I certainly would help but I am not going to get stressed out. Like #1 why is their no word censor here? So many things wrongs......

Was waiting a while to see if I was going to get any more pop-ups after you mentioned the above. So far I haven't!! Hope I am not speaking too soon ---but it looks like the administrator must have put a stop to them. Thank you Mr. Administrator. Not only were they annoying but I am realizing now just how time-consuming they were (and 'choppy') !!

I have something on my computer called a pop-up blocker. Don't even ask me how it got there...I haven't the vaguest idea. I assume my friend Chris (the computer genius) had something to do with it. If people are interested, I could ask him to come down and tell you how to go about getting it. I know it doesn't cost anything. He isn't a member so, I'd have to let him post under my name.

Let me know if anybody would be interested in the information. I've never had a pop-up on this site.

I am at work though, and probably shouldn't tamper with the computers. I have pop up blocker at home but I still get the pop ups that are a whole screen and take for ever to load. They are sort of like a commercial and say some thing like "skip this ad" at the bottom and have a 15 second countdown. In the past half hour or so, I haven't had one, so maybe its over!
