Didn't even know what ocd stood for until I just looked it up on the 'net'. I am putting a link to what I just read here if anybody else had the same problem of not knowing what it is. Also maybe some info for you too Silent Watcher---Tells quite a lot. ------------------------------------>

I don't personally suffer from OCD but it is well known in North America both in therapeutic circles and among the general public.

I never treated anyone with the disorder when I was in practice. It was not my specialty. However, I had two colleagues who treated people with OCD exclusively.

I've been retired since 2002 due to health reasons. I'm a psychologist. I worked with high risk inmates in the Canadian correctional system. I also did a lot of work with assaulted women. Animals are the love of my life so, I've always volunteered for various animal causes.

Diagnosing OCD can be very complicated, considering the variety of symptoms sufferers may experience, which may seem bizarre or nonsensical. Many sufferers of the disease do not want to admit they have these compulsions.

From what I understand, it can also be difficult to treat.

The hard part in OCD is the recurring and distressing thoughts, fears, or images that are hard or cannot be controlled.

I do know something of what you're talking about. One of the ways in which people in this business stay sane is to talk things over with their colleagues, knowing that it won't go any farther.
