It was super nice today. Got some yard work done and took the dogs to the dog park, along with our best friend's dog. It was about 65 today. It will get cold again on Monday. I keep forgetting you only live about 30 minutes from me. Maybe you can bring your doggie to one of our doggie sleepovers. Buster is kinda stupid, but the rest are ok.

Don't call Buster stupid. My Lance has already claimed that title! I swear, I have never had a dumber dog in my entire life. Sometimes I really wonder if he's brain damaged...

I have come to the conclusion after all these years that at some point in everyone's life who has owned a dog has claimed the same thing about them.
How could we tell the smart ones if we did not have at least one dumb one along the way.

Quite true. However, how many of you can claim that your dog trips over his own leash? That requires an advanced level of stupidity.

Buster trips over his own leash, everyone elses's leash and his own feet. I told him I was going to enter him in the special olypmics. Lance and Buster sounds like they would be quite a pair if ever together. And no, Buster isn't stupid. He's retarded.

Yesterday I was having a friend over for dinner so, I leashed up Lance and Lara (Bailey is staying with her Grandmother Amodeo who lost her husband last week so she won't be alone in the house) and off to the wine store we went.
It's not a long walk - maybe 3 blocks there and back. In that time, Lance managed to trip over his leash several times, get Lara all snarled up in his leash and run circles around me so that I was literally tied up by Lance's leash. People were actually standing around and laughing at me!!! Needless to say, I was not amused...
When Bailey is in residence, I'm enough of a glutton for punishment to take all three of them for a walk. This is where Lance really shines. Don't ask me how he manages to do it but, somehow he manages to "braid" all the leashes together until it seems as if there is one thick leash and 3 dogs all squeezed together. It takes a good bit of time and a lot of perseverance to return all three leashes to their natural form, again while people are staring and snickering.
As for the Special Olympics, I'm far too kind a person to inflict the likes of Lance on the athletes.

I've gotten all tied up with an extendable leash from Lucky several times. Got all tangled up and rope burnt too. Not fun...

I bunged out my extendable leash the first time I tried to grab that scrawny little rope and ended up with my hand bandaged for over a week!

I hate those stupid leashes!!! Besides, twice in the last few months, people who were walking their dogs on these leashes in Toronto had their dogs run into the road and get hit. Apart for perhaps walking in the park, I don't think they're safe.

Some of them are really crappy quality as well. Lucky broke like 3 of 'em when she was a pup by chasing after a rabbit or something and they WERE for the correct weight too.

Well, you have to figure that the rope part is so thin that it wouldn't take much to break them. I'm always astounded when I see someone with a huge dog, walking them on one of those leashes - a recipe for disaster!

I don't care for them either. Buster has broken 3 regular leashes. He now has a very thick horse lead.

Yeh, Corky chewed almost all the way through one of those kind--almost before I even realized it. He hated it as much as anybody--Would not quit chewing on it no matter what. Had to stop using it as it prob. would of broken with one more lunge! Cost more than most kind too. $20.00 and that was about 10 years ago.

Trust me; unless you buy the really cheap knock-offs, they are VERY expensive now.

You're right. They generally are pretty pricey but the same brands are MUCH cheaper at WalMart. Are there any of those in Canada? Good Old WalMart
I decided just to go ahead and try a dirt cheap one a few months ago for 2 bucks from the local grocery store just for the hell of it. Let's just say my back was sore as hell the next day after walking Lucky home from the dog park that very night by the collar with my own hands...

We do have WalMart here although I don't shop there often because the store is quite a distance from my apartment.
I'm going to be looking for a small air conditioner for my bedroom this year from WalMart. I have a huge one in my living room but, somehow the cool air doesn't turn the corner to my bedroom. I also buy a lot of wool there for my crocheted blankets.

Well I got back to Ohio from Florida last Saturday. Boy was Lucky glad to see me and I was sure glad to see her as well! Anyone else have a dog who will mouth onto (but not bite down at all) to their arm when they get real excited? That's what Lucky does...:-D Brought her back a few guifts. Some pig ears, a squeaky toy, and a little stuffed rabbit with a squeaker inside. She loved them. Boy does she sound spoiled or what??? I was glad to see her, but not so glad to be back in Ohio in general I heard is snowed while I was gone. Yes, that's right, SNOWED! I left when it was in the 70's and it SNOWED over the cource of only one week that I was gone! Can you believe that??? Guess that's Ohio for ya Did it snow over in where you are Lunareclipse?
