Strange Weather
Poor Kato is in for an uncomfortable summer i think............usually by now its getting hotter, but is quite tolerable, as we usually have quite a clean clear heat. You know the sort? Close the curtains and stop the sun, and your house will be cool, but this year we have started with a very humid summer, and apparently its meant to remain like this for some time, drizzle drizzle, thunderstorm drizzle, its near impossible to cool the house down in this weather, the humidity is way too high, washing on the line is taking days to dry because the air is so damp, and the house just feels wet and sticky...... I want my dry heat back....lol
I suppose one positive of it all, I would suspect that whilst it remains this damp, our bush fire risk may remain a little lower.

Your climate is so alien to me. The UK is so mild in winter and unreliable in summer. I think I would struggle in your climate, no idea how my dogs would cope. Do you use one of those chill pillows for Kato? A friend in Calcutta would leave wet towels in the dog basket to cool her dog while she was out of the house.

We have a cooling vest for him, but he has a tendancy to get a little annoyed with it. On the really bad days though we just bring him inside under the aircon. figure its the safest, and best way to keep him safe and cool.

It gets humid here in the summer. Kuma was only a little pup but I had to give her a little push to get her out this past summer. I'd only give her a few minutes out & bring her in to the ac. I don't have the vest but I bought her the cool bed 3. She loved it although it took her a few days to really try it out. I didn't put a cover on it since i wanted it as cold as possible (indoors). Outside she would always stick her paws in the water bowl. Next summer I plan on buying her a plastic kiddy pool and freeze big chunks of ice to put in it. I always thought Wrigley was a hot dog(pun not intended )...Kuma takes the cake now.

Seigi just loves his kiddie pool...When it's hot he never wants to stay out long but when we fill his pool and throw his toys in there he'll stay out as long as we let him.

That's about 88F for us oddballs of the world. I had to use a conversion chart. That is hot. I'm sure those of us with winter on us will be craving that sort of heat in the coming months. We're never happy! lol

How well I remember the English weather...As Chris DeBurgh said in one of his songs, "always raining on a sunny day." Frankly, I will trade you my cold damp winter for your rain any day of the week!!!
Now that I've retired, I'd move to Britain in a heartbeat if it didn't entail my dogs being quarantined for so long...
