Blizzard and the Dogs
The Bear loves the snow & can't have enough of it. Meanwhile the Cub wants nothing to do with it. I'm just glad the day is over.

A rolled up newspaper can be an effective training tool when used properly. For instance, use the rolled-up newspaper if your dog chews up something inappropriate or has a housebreaking accident. Those are cute, fluffy dogs... Are they Chow-chow mixes?
If you perhaps want to get the little white dog into the snow, perhaps try buying him some "booties" so his paws don't get cold.

Wow - I don't think we have ever experienced snow like that. Great photos. Love your little dog sitting on the door step looking all unloved!

I am going to take pics today of my 'snow dunes'/drifts and all the nearly 3 hrs. of shoveling snow I did yesterday. I live on the downward corner of my block and it does look like the sand dunes with the top ridges, lol, or it did before I shoveled! Luckily a guy was going past my driveway when I was out shoveling the driveway (Took pity on me I guess, lol!) and with his plow (bobcat) rid me of most of what was left in the driveway otherwise it would of been about 4 more hrs. of me shoveling. Not only the drifts that blew it in but the city plowed in the entrance of my driveway--about 3 feet wide and 2 feet tall of hard crusty snow. Took me a good hour just to make 'paths and potty spots' in my back yard so my dogs could even walk back there. But, by the time I get these pics. here----Have to do the developing the old fashioned way--take a week or more by the time I get done with the film and take it to be developed--Lol, maybe the snow will be gone by then. I imagine New York is getting this blizzard about now! Anyone in this forum that lives in the suburbs or country of New York/eastern states have any snow pics to share?

Thanks! It's an Akita w/a long coat & a LhasaX. They're very cuddly but high maintenance coats.
LOL Cig! Wrigley was waiting for me to shovel a path for him, he's smart. Kuma is no holds barred and makes her own path.
C/M, I can't wait to see the pics. I was wondering how much snow you got in WI. The drift really helped for those of us with little dogs right. lol One of their potty areas was pretty clear, thankfully, so it wasn't too much work.
How I wish we had a neighbor like yours! LOL A bobcat would have been WONDERFUL! We finished digging the cars out today. The plows barely came around this morning so we had to dig out what they pushed in today. I don't know about you & how close you are to your neighbors but I just don't get why most people throw their snow into the street. They're only going to throw it back when the plows come around. Needless to say our spots ended up being the nicest of our block. We don't have driveways & there's no way I was going to put our cars in the garages. The alleys are worse. I'm glad you're fairing well on your end.

Finally got my 'SNOW' pics developed. Of course after posting those snow pics from South Dakota these are minor but for me shoveling--They were still major to me!
1st pic--self explanatory!
2nd pic--along road/street in front of my house
3rd pic--along sidewalk to my front deck and front door
4th pic--back yard paths I shoveled for dogs (to the right side of back door)(Sami)
5th pic-- area shoveled to left side of back door. Lol, Max would not go potty till I made a place for him!
This last pic is more of the back I shoveled for the dogs. You can see how high snow was by how much is up toward the top of my chain-link fence.

I'm jealous... We never get snow like that here Our climate is too dry. Lange, your pup looked quite happy in the drifts! My Lhasa x is a bit more brave than yours... she'll usually go wading out in the snow.
I attached a pic of Zoe in the Snow... we didn't have alot then, we have more now though... bu tas it's been so warm, alot of it's gone again.

Lol, I'd gladly 'beam' it over if I could! You could have it all--I don't care if I never see anymore snow ever, ever!

I find it funny since Lhasas were made to be a little rugged but Wrigley should be a weenie dog, he doesn't like rain or drizzle either.
We finally hit warmer temps, above freezing, now we have huge puddles everywhere. I wish I lived in your dryer climate. I'd imagine your summers must be really nice there.

Zoe doesn't much like rain, and she hates wind, but the wind thing stems from her fears. But she isn't much bothered about snow or cold, infact I think she rather likes the snow.
Usually we have fairly nice summers, but we get alot of thunderstorms in the afternoons. We dont get alot of rainy days, just afternoon storms, but living so close to the mountains, we expect that. But the weather is never constant, we dont get weeks of hot, or weeks of rain, or anything like that. It may be 30C one day, and 10C and windy the next, then back up to 25C the day after... Just like in the winter. We can have 30-40 degree changes in temperatures in 24 hours. We were the coldest place on the planet one day just before Christmas (-45C, -57C with the wind chill) 36 hours later we were at +9C (I'm not so good with Farenheit temps but -40C and -40F are the same, 0C is 32F, and 20C is 70F)

We got hit by the snow hard here too. Tiffany is not a fan. Her paws get cold and she hops around dramatically. I tried putting boots on her and she wasn't having any part of it.
I'm glad it's melting now though!

LOL Don't worry, it's not over just yet for us either. We had your freezing weather last week. From the low of last week to this weeks high, the difference was almost 70F! Crazy weather.. But I did just hear we're getting snow this weekend. But keep that negative windchill over there please. I'm not envying you right now. lol

I had a woman from Fort Saskatchewan purchase one of my Papillon males couple years ago. He was fine til the first real cold morning. It was 40 below and she said she opened the back door for her female and him to go out. The female went right out but as soon as he got to the doorway and felt the cold, he was in full retreat. She described it as a blur, he moved so fast.
