Enjoy your Thanksgiving with your family. I remember traveling many times just over the border from Washington state into Whiterock, for Thanksgiving to my grandparents house, when I was young.
Our Thanksgiving in the States is November 24th this year. We head to the sand dunes in Oregon in the motorhome.Yep, dogs too. Hunter loves being curled up in a blanket by the campfire. We call it Sandy Turkey. Family and friends join us for this 6 day trip.

Thank you piratekitty:
Going to the sand dunes sounds like alot of fun. Sitting by a campfire with family and of the dogs, sounds great.
I'll have to remember Nov.24th, to extent the thanks.

Happy Thanksgiving! I'm sure there will be a lot of puppies giving thanks for great owners that give them some of the scraps from the leftover feast!

We did this year. My uncle had a turkey he was growing for thanksgiving and it came up and pecked him right in the balls when he was getting out of his truck, so we ate it early. We'll have have another of his turkeys for thanksgiving later.

A reminder! Don't give your dog any fat or skin from the turkey---It is the worst densest fat there is and could cause big problems---pancreatitis and other problems!
Foods that are hazardous to a dog
In searching about a thread in here (That I haven't found yet!) on turkey fat, I came across this older thread on dog food you may find interesting: Holistic Dog Foods
If I find the thread on turkey fat, I will bring it here later.
Hey! I finally found the thread on turkey--and it can be too much salt too.---> Rachael Ray - turkey bad for dogs?

Good reminder to anyone thinking of ticking off your uncle.

A rolled up newspaper can be an effective training tool when used properly. For instance, use the rolled-up newspaper if your dog chews up something inappropriate or has a housebreaking accident. Bring the dog over to the destroyed object (or mess), then take the rolled-up newspaper and hit yourself over the head as you repeat the phrase,"I FORGOT TO WATCH MY DOG, I FORGOT TO WATCH MY DOG!"

I'd be a little upset at being pecked in the nads if I was a dude too. My uncle is a really quiet dude and it's hard to make him mad. But when he gets mad....
