Your sig made me smile. But I disagree - I love life and I love to watch my little dogs run - much less hard work

Having said that, I have been enjoying walking my dad's dog who seems to be half dog/half pony and I love to see him gallop when I let him off the lead!

I'm not sure I know what you are talking about. Did I "say" something in a post about not letting your dogs run???

No no, it was just the comment in your sig - "Enjoy life, run with the big dogs". Having walked (and run) with a big dog instead of my little terriers I was saying it is more fun to watch them run than to try and keep up with the big dog LOL!

You got that right, some times it hard to even walk with the big dogs.LOL
But I just love to watch all dogs big or small run free.
We are lucky enough to have a large area of land , that all of us dog owners go to let our dogs off leash. There is a big open area and some trails.
It's great, except the time my neighbours Choco.Lab chased a porcupine up a tree. I was able to re-call Brody and Keegan, but Owen had other thoughts.
He was very lucky and I thought my neighbour was going to have kittens.!!

I tried to get him to run on the beach yesterday but all he wanted was to attack the sea weed! Then we walked the cycle path and it was lovely to watch him run ahead and skid to a halt and run back when I called him. But give me a terrier anyday - I like to be able to pick them up and move them when they go on strike LOL!

Isn't it just wonderful that there are so many different breeds, all shapes and sizes to go with all of our different personalities.
I admit, there are times when I wish that I could just bend down and "scoop" them up under my arm!! but I would have to start some serious weight taining for that to happen.
