Just so you don't wonder what happened---
Wasn't going to post this until tomorrow but with all the problems I am having with this new lemon computer---and it is getting worse----Thought I'd better do it now while I can still get it here! I will be without a computer for sure by Tues (Jan. 17)----sending it back to Hp to be worked on and hopefully fixed! So you may not 'see' me for a couple weeks or so. Sure will feel lost without a computer and not being able to get on the forum. Till then......

That is an idea but I prob. won't as it is kind of a hazzle for me, BUT if I get desperate enough and also if it takes longer then expected to get my tower back!! I just called FedEx to schedule a pick-up for tomorrow (Tues). Have to have it ready to go by noon. Even though HP is paying postage---Being as I am having it picked up instead of me taking it to the place they ship from (FedEx--which would be 50 miles away) I will be charged a pick-up fee and HP will not pay that---I think they should pay for it. I wish they would just send me a new different computer! I am afraid I will get this one back and it will still have many things wrong with it. I guess time will tell (sigh). If there is still things wrong with it----I am going to insist on a different new computer. Right now it has started humming fairly loud and is another indication that a component is bad. Hope to 'talk' to you all soon!

Mine took 6 weeks to come back from HP. You might be visiting the library after all.

A rolled up newspaper can be an effective training tool when used properly. For instance, use the rolled-up newspaper if your dog chews up something inappropriate or has a housebreaking accident. Bring the dog over to the destroyed object (or mess), then take the rolled-up newspaper and hit yourself over the head as you repeat the phrase,"I FORGOT TO WATCH MY DOG, I FORGOT TO WATCH MY DOG!"

Oh, Luna! I don't want it to be that long, darn! The library is only a couple blocks away----Just so it doesn't get nasty out----I am no good with going on snow or icy roads and I have a steep short driveway that I have to back out of. I can't walk either as I literally can't walk very far--slipped vertebra. I guess I'll just have to wait and see and not worry about it till the time comes (If it comes!).
Lange--- ME TOO on both counts.
I had to try 4 times this time to even get Windows to open---some troubleshooting done--just before I got here in this forum (or anyplace else on the net. I may be in early tomorrow if I can get in at all but then I have to box it up and have it ready to go---so will be 'talking to you all' at a later time (Not too late I hope). Maybe I will get a little cleaning done and I have a couple books I want to read. Lol, you will never guess the title of one of them---Troubleshooting Your PC for Dummies. Just got it in the mail a couple days ago--Should of had it sooner, Lol, got the book now and no computer to work with it! SEE YA!

I'm Back Already!!
Well HP got my computer last Thursday AM and shipped it back the same day! Got an automated call Sunday from Madison (FedEx 'center') telling me my computer would be back to me Monday (yesterday) by 4:30 PM. There were major issues for sure! HP replaced the whole Mother Board and also had to replace 4GBs (Memory card(s) of the original 6GBs. Just got it set up this afternoon and didn't even have to redo anything as they never erased anything--They had said it would be back to the way it was when I 1st bought it with everything erased. They must of tested the mother board right off and found things easily that were bad. But I will still be wondering if I am going to get errors yet--Prob. take me a couple months to 'let my guard down!' But it is good to be back--I was actually going through computer withdrawal! I have over 200 new posts to look at and about as many emails to take care of. Lol, I'll prob. be up till the wee hrs.

Welcome back!! Better that it was an over estimate on how long it would take then an under estimate. lol 1 week is fast.
BTW Forum was having connectivity issues that last day, before you sent out your pc. I think it took a few days to get up & running.

Yeh, I tried to get into the forum one last time that day before I had to unplug everything. Also guess a lot of other places were protesting over the government trying to control certain issues while I was without a computer. Was this the best time to be without my computer or what!
