I'm not quite sure what you mean by "mouth each other" - but it could be playing. Puppies often "play fight" when they're younger, and nibble at each other and the behaviour your dogs are exhibiting could just be carried on from their childhood.Also, the groaning could just be them waking up... people take a while to wake up and dogs aren't much different in that respect!

My dogs do this when they play and make weird growling/moaning/groaning noises. They can sound really funny, but it's just play behavior.
