Default Dog Rescue?

Is there a place in ohio that rescues lab mix's. She has a small problem sometimes with bitting and she is getting aggresive and I know we have to deal with it. But she is a sweet dog and if I could find a her a place[t really bothers me if it comes to putting her down. I've spoken to trainer but he says it might have to be,but my kids would not understand and really be hurt. Can you help me please and find a solution. Parent and animal lover in really in pain!

Below is a link to all the shelters and rescues in Ohio. I work for a Golden Retriever rescue and we do not take dogs who have broken the skin. I think your best bet if you want to keep the dog is to attempt a training session of some kind to see if the behavior can be curbed. It may take some time if the dog is older and has done this it's entire life. I hope one of the places on the site below is helpful!

My grandchild was bitten in the face by MY sweet dog. He knocked her down and bit her. He was a very loving dog. Just went crazy. I didn't have a problem with putting him down. I understand your pain. I was in pain when I had him put down.Did you have him fixed? That might be an option. Sometimes that helps. I'm not saying it will for sure. Ask your vet. Hope this helps. I totally understand. Don't wait around like I did and think it will go away by itself. It won't.

Find a good reputable trainer that has worked with aggressive dogs before. Be sure your kids know correct ways to behave around dogs and vice versa. Don't leave them unattended together....no matter what dog it is! Dogs will be dogs, kids will be kids...parents need to supervise at all times as you just NEVER know if a kid pulls to hard, pokes an eye, etc. Or if a kid is running and the dog wants to play...dogs play with mouths. Many things could cause it, please get a trainer in to evaluate first! Not one from petco...
