Default Housebreaking a rescue dog...?

I got my adult dog from an animal shelter and the first week she was here she went to the bathroom outside ALL the time. Now we take her out all the time, first thing when I get up in the morning and since I don't work and I smoke only outside, I take her outside with me alot and walk around. My children also love to walk her. Now she REFUSES to go potty outside and only wants to do it inside. She is fine, been to the vet and no problems. She just doesn't want to go outside. She doesn't do it right there in front of me but ALWAYS in the same room. Usually as far away from me as possible.

Well, you should first start to take her out every hour, and then after doing that for a couple of weeks, , take her out about every two hours, and after doing THAT for a week of two, you should be fine, just make sure that you take her out at LEAST 4 or 5 times a day.

I had the same problem with my rescue dog. He went outside for about a week, then started going in the house. It turned out to be a bladder infection, most likely from the stress of changing environments and getting new owners. Did the vet do a urine check? If not, take a sample in. If it turns out to be a bladder infection, she'll get antibiotics and be housetrained again in a few days.

I also got a rescue dog and it was horrible in the beginning, I would walk her for a good 30 minutes and she would not go outside. So i'd have to leave and sometimes i would go back within 30 mintues and she would have gone inside. I ended up putting her in one room and leaving and she wouldnt go. It was when she had full roam she would go. So for a couple of months when i would leave, I'd put her in the bedroom and since then had no problems. Does she do it while your home?
