MGM hit is pretty much on the nose. There are 2 types of biters. Aggressive and defensive. It is important to know which is which. Just because a dog bites does not mean that it is aggressive and should be put down. I have biters that I have adopted and they have worked out fine with me. Important to note that dogs just do not bite for any reason not even Pit Bulls. Someone or something has caused this and once you discover the cause the fix is not that difficult. Never reinforce by tlc any dog that shows a bad attitude as you are only supporting it. Many dogs learn a great deal from those people who actually shun the dog and show it no attention when it has done wrong. When you think about it, most dogs re-act not act. It takes an action to get a reaction from a dog, no matter what the breed or mixed. Therefore most dog bites are defensive. If the dog is showing a biting attitude toward males (I will assume men) than in all likelihood a man has abused the dog in the past therefore in its mind all men are a threat therefore it is acting out on a defensive mechanism in its mind. It perceives a threat based on a prior experience or experiences. This may be difficult, but try to think like the dog. You may find that you responses are very similar. Granted we generally do not bite but we do become defensive with a perceived threat especially if it relates to a past situation that creates fear in our minds.

No I am not a Miniature Doberman, I was around 200 years before Louis Doberman created the Dobie and as for my friends the Manx cats, yes they are better at playing fetch than I am, I am a Miniature Pinscher.
