Hi,I'm new to this forum,but not to the dog world.I work at a animal hospital with the boarders and rescues.I see so many dogs that need homes and it kills me.I don't judge people,but I don't understand why people get dogs and throw them away like they are nothing.On petfinder alone there are over 250,000 homeless animals.I know it's nothing new to anyone here,but I don't have many people to talk to that understand that.I have 3 dogs(all over 80lbs.) and they are a handful.My shepherd barks all the time and is very bossy but I would never give him up.Someone I work with had a dog and gave it away because she said it was too hyper and wouldn't stay still.If people want something that stays in the corner they should get a statue.I get all circumstances,if someone gets ill or can't afford it,but don't say you have no time when you shouldn't of got the dog in the first place.I am thankful for all the rescue groups and kind people that help.Sorry for the ranting had to get that out.thank you

Unfortunately this happens all over the world... My biggest shock was on Christmas days, when I found in Bucharest a very old dog (little Chihuahua) tied up to a yard and having besides her a small bag with clothing and 2 food plates... She is over 10 years old and I just cannot understand how to leave with a dog for 10 years and then just abandon him on the streets?

I work a lot at an animal shelter in spain. Here we also see a lot of dogs abandoned or taken back because of silly things like they bark to much...I also have rescued a few dogs in the time that i have been here, and also have two dogs.
