Looking to adopt
We are a family of four with 2 young boys ages 2 and 5. we are looking to adopt a good family dog. We aren't sure of what breed we want but we need a dog that will be playful, friendly, not too big but not too small and gets along with kids. Let me know if you have someone that needs a home. Thank you.

Adopt puppy
Hi my name is Jennifer.
I would recommend a Lab or Golden retriever. They make great family dogs. Our female Chololate Lab is 21 in high so not a big dog. Our Black Lab mix golden retriever is 24 in. Which is a normal height.
I would check Shelters. Privet Breeders can be costly.
I'm not a breeder but if you go that route make sure you get a shot records from their vet. That is what we have done in the past with our puppies when they go to new homes.
They are full of energy, like to fetch and play. Will keep your kids occupied for hours. And they are really loyal dogs, really friendly with people and other animals. They can be taught to protect the family, and they are extreamly smart.
Make sure you do your research about the breed of dog and how to care for them. Dont get a puppy that is younger then 8 weeks old. Colorado law states that it is against the law to give puppies away before 8 weeks, for any breed. Check the law in your state. Also know that at 9 weeks puppies go through a period where they will jump off things and could really hurt themselves. You have to watch them close for the next few weeks. Just until they get a little bigger.
Hope this helps

Golden Retrievers definitely, I own two a male that is 8yrs old and a female that is 1. When my husband and I got our male we paid $150, he is AKC registered but because he has a knob on his elbow which is due to laying on concrete no-one wanted him-- he is the most loyal companion ever. He was 2yrs old when we had our 1st son and we brought him blankets from the hospital to get use to the new baby and when we brought our son home, Scooby welcomed him with a BIG KISS, it was the cutest thing ever. The only time I ever seen him get aggressive was when I 1st had our son and my sister-in-law came over and I had the baby and Scooby was laying right beside me and she grabbed the baby and he grumbled to let her know she needs to ask for permission. Both Scooby and Violet are great with our three children ages 6, 5, and 3. In fact, my five-year-old was mauled by a Black Lab(he was abused) and after my son got out of a six hour surgery he went and layed under the table with Scooby and Scooby licked him like he was his son.
