Hi Everyone,
I am in no way affiliated with the HSSC (humane society sumner county). I am just a dog lover who wants to help out my new friend Hurley.
I'm afraid we have met the perfect dog but there is no way for us to give him a home. His name is Hurley (but he doesn't seem to know his name so I bet it would be easy to change) and he is a Lab/Shepherd mix. He is down at the Sumner County Humane Society in Hendersonville Tn. Sadly people haven't taken much of an interest in him because when he is back in the kennel he isn't jumping around "look at me look at me" he just calmly sits there.
His story is sad. His previous owner kept him in the backyard 24/7 and he kept escaping. Well that is to be expected with a young untrained puppy. Finally Animal Control picked him up and his owner called the humane society and said that he wasn't going to get him and asked if they would pull him from Animal Control and find him a home. So far Hurley has been there for awhile and not many people are interested. Thanks to Big Black Dog Syndrome (big black dogs are usually the last to get adopted)
Hurley is a year old, a fun and playful guy and he needs a family who will love him for who is he, work on training him, and just give him a nice home where he is part of the family and not left in the yard 24/7. They said he is good with Kids, dogs, and cats. We spent some time with him yesterday and like i said if we didn't already have two dogs he would be everything we were looking for in a dog. The biggest thing he needs work on is learning to walk on a leash. And I firmly believe Hurley is going to make someone a great best friend.
So if you can find it in your heart to give this handsome boy a home, you won't regret it.

Here's hoping he gets adopted soon!
