Default Need an option for our dog

Hi,
My wife and I have a 4yr old rat terrier named scooter whom we love so much. Our 5 month old daughter is highly allergic to him and breaks out in horrible hives. My father breeds rat terriers in Maine and that is where I got scooter from. I brought him home to my then fiance for valentines day years ago. He has had a very happy life so far and we want to make sure he continues to have a great life. His approach to people is...he loves you right away...or he hates you right away. He is needy and but extremly loving. We are heart broken because he is part of our family. Any suggestions on where to research a home for him. My fathers kennel is jam packed and no family members can take him. I live in south of boston massachusetts. Maybe a farm type place. Any suggestions in this difficult time would be greatly appreciated.

Mike and Vanessa

you can list the dog on craigslist with stipulation you do a home visit. I have rescued many dogs and have 3 currently that I have from craigslist. Even when I fostered I did home visits and watched how the dog and potential new owners intermixed with each other to see if it would work.

Hi Mike and Vanessa, I would insist on a home visit to make sure Scooter goes to a good loving home.. It will be hard enough to let him go and meeting the family and seeing his new environment will help..
