To Whom It Concerns,

I am writing to inquire as the disposal methods you use for damaged pet (dog, cat, bird, etc) food, litter, etc. I am presently attempting to start a local (Katy, TX) non-profit organization to help temporarily feed the pets of people who are experiencing financial difficulties due to recent economic circumstance or other financial disadvantage.

It breaks my heart to imagine having to resort to pet abandonment due to a lack of funds. Especially, the children of such families who have no control whatsoever. I presently DO NOT have a 501c3 (non-profit tax identification), so I cannot offer you a tax exempt receipt. However, if you have a heart for animals and you presently “dump” your soon-to- expire or damaged food bags/cans, PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE contact me. For animals and the families of those animals, I will GLADLY climb into your dumpster if need be… Of course, I would prefer to walk through the door, but I would be grateful either way. Even if it’s a one time donation of one small bag of food or one tiny can…I would be thrilled.

This is not a scam of any kind. I am a mom of a 2year human girl, a 3 year old Labrador girl, a 4 year old Beagle boy, and a 10 year old Orange Tabby. I’ve led a blessed life, thanks to my Lord Jesus Christ, and I only want to help others. I will gladly present proof of identity at your business if you should decide to donate. Please consider giving some unwanted or “donatable” pet food, kitty litter, or any other pet supplies. If I were trying to scam you, I’d ask for cash donations or gift cards. I’m not asking for either.

Even if you decide you can’t help, please say a prayer for me, that God guides my endeavor, I find donations, and He leads me to people who need help.

[]In addition, if you know of someone in the Katy/West Houston area that is in need of temporary assistance feeding their pet, PLEASE email me! I need demand as well as supply![/B]
Thank you so much for your consideration,

Allison Walla

PS – If you are a business willing to be a collection site (container w/ explanation stating purpose), that too would be fantastic! This cost you nothing, yet shows your customers you have a caring heart!

Bless you for doing this! I would contact the large pet food stores. Also, write to Halo for donations. As for disposal, I suppose one would contact the city in which you live with regard to how various items should be disposed of. Best of luck to you!!!
