Meet Jayda (A12040428), a simply gorgeous and very sweet 1 year old female American Pitbull Terrier mix. Unfortunately, she has gotten her heart broken in the past by people who weren’t as loyal as she is and simply put her out to wander the streets once they’ve had enough of her. How anyone could get enough of this cutie? I do not know. What I do know is that the disappointment has not changed her positive, playful and fun outlook on life and her positive, cuddly nature towards humans.

Got toys?Then be ready for tons of fun playing with Jayda. She is energetic and eager to play. Are you a runner, walker or biker? Perfect, you might be Jayda’s match made in heaven – especially if you would like to cuddle up with her after a nice jog. As much as she enjoys being active, Jayda also loves curling up right next to “her person” and taking a nap while getting her belly rubbed. In the car, she is calm and well behaved.

Jayda knows “Sit”, “Down”, "No" & "Touch" and learns in light speed. When working with her, it’s obvious how eager of a learner she is as she is very treat and toy motivated. She’ll do anything for a snack or a ball. Add that to the fact that she is very attentive and wants to please “her human” and you have a diamond in the rough. With just a little bit of love, patience and effort Jayda will blossom and become the dog of your dreams. Since nobody in her past gave her the attention and structure she needs, her manners need to be brushed up a little as she tends to use her paws a lot when playing. A simple "no" is enough to make her stop immediately though. Jayda appears to be housebroken.

Jayda has a Pen Pal who regularly spends time with her, takes her to adoption events and more importantly works with her on obedience. In addition, her Pen Pal is always available for tips and support even after the adoption.

If you are living with cats, we will test her to see how she behaves around them. If you have dogs, be sure to bring them with you when you come to meet her.

Jayda is up to date on all of her shots, will be micro-chipped and neutered before you take her home with you!!!!!! If you cannot adopt her permanently but would like to help, please consider becoming Jayda's foster parent until she finds her happy ending. You would not only save her but also another dog that will move into her kennel at ACCT.
