Some useful Info and forewarning on scams
Gary, I hope you don't mind me pasting your email to me here as I think it is good info to put in this forum. If some of you recall--Gary (also his username in this forum) is the great guy who got an abused dog out of Afghanistan so he knows about the procedure, etc. If you want to see the pics of his rescued dog, Bobby and his posts in here about this 'challenge'---You have to click on his name which can be found by going to the top of the page(s) in here and see the blue strip going across the page with all the white words---Click on the word Community and then on Members List and follow the easy instructions---When you find the word Gary--click on it. Some 'intense' reading in his posts as he tries to get Bobby out of that country!
And here is the email he sent me with some good info:
hi barb glad to get your email , i am still here in 'stan yes , i'll write more later or tomorrow as i'm a bit busy at the moment
then i can tell you more about the way the charity raises money as it's officially registered with the uk government and is financially audited , so if anyone asks for donations to be paid directly to them i'd be inclined not to trust them and ask which charity is doing the logistics of the rescue and then donate to that charity , nowzad dogs is the only one i know of over here that organises rescues to the us , canada , uk , anywhere in fact that a service person is from and wants to take a dog or cat back home with them, there are a lot of people who prey on others' kind hearts for their own gain and pretend to be out to help asking for handouts as we all know
I will update with more info as I receive it from Gary (or maybe he will put it in here himself!) And thanks Gary for this good info!
