Yogi's pins
I thought A few of you on this forum might be interested in with some new news I have on one of Yogi's. I was feeling someday I would run into one of his pins. As I come into contact with alot of dogs thru my training program I have my pin in. Theres about 700 dogs pass thur this program in my area I live.
Today I was in class with another pin head. Beautiful fella he is. Black and tan markings, great confirmation. Very active, loves to fetch his ball, and loves and is friendly towards dogs. He dose tower over Hunter, but than Hunter is tiny. His name is Jet. They were told he was 6 mos. They think he was older. He is very fearfull of people, he has been this way since they got him. This was one of the things we worked on in class with him as a group.
I do find that this is a common trait with pins. Ive been working on this for 2 yrs with mine, Ive put alot of time in this, baby steps, but its been positive and he is getting more comfortable with people. Jet and Hunter became friends, its funny how pins know one another when they see one.
I hope I will see Jet again and take a picture of the two boys together. Jet seems very healthy and loved alot.

A rolled up newspaper can be an effective training tool when used properly. For instance, use the rolled-up newspaper if your dog chews up something inappropriate or has a housebreaking accident. Bring the dog over to the destroyed object (or mess), then take the rolled-up newspaper and hit yourself over the head as you repeat the phrase,"I FORGOT TO WATCH MY DOG, I FORGOT TO WATCH MY DOG!"

I had just joined another pin forum that Yogi was on. Maybe about a month later it was on the news about him and his dogs. I didnt realize it was the same person on the pin forum that I just got on. I found this forum after he had passed on and most of his dogs were adopted out. I came to this forum from a link off of his website. I wanted to learn more from his post, he had so much knowledge about pins.
He lived in a town just up from me. I still love reading his post. What a loss. But to see one of his dogs today was awesome.

Thanks for sharing that, piratekitty. Glad to hear another one of Yogi's dogs found a good home. I don't think Yogi's dogs saw too many people so I can see this happening--being afraid of people, but maybe in time it will get better.
I wonder if Jet was one of the new pups that was born not too long before Yogi died. I don't know if he posted pics of the new ones on his blog but darn, He had sent me an email of the new pups and I got a new computer--The emails I had on the old computer didn't get saved--They were suppose to be saved but the guy I had setting up this new computer screwed up and didn't put them in. Yogi died on July 12--give or take a day----almost 6 months ago. Thinking about it--maybe it wouldn't be the newest pups but the ones before that----Might be able to find it on Yogi's blog after all!
I will be right back--going to get the link to his blog.
Here is the link to Yogi's blog: http://blackhawkkennels.webs.com/ Sigh! I am having problems with Firefox losing things right now! I have some info yet to put here. Bear with me--I am going to go copy it on Word pad and then will copy it and bring it here.
Go to the word photos on the left and then click on album titled Miniature Pinscher Litters album--has 27 photos.
He last posted pics on May 26, 2011. The 1st 10 pics could not be Jet.--nor pics 18, 19, or 25. The pics posted on May 26--#s 20 thru 24 have no age or date of birth given-- so ? But if they are 1-2 months old then--They would be about 10 months or so now and maybe these are the same litter as pics 14 and 15. (I am not familiar with Min Pins at all so don't really know how big they are at given ages!)---> Pics 14 and 15 were born Feb. 27, 2011 and would be 13 months now. Pics 11, 12, 13, 16, and 17 were born Sep. 10, 2010 and would be 17 months now.
So what do you think, piratekitty--Any good guesses as to which could be Jet?

Corky I would have to say they are Jazz's/ Tazzer's litter dob sept10;2010 Pictures 11.12,13,16,17. one of the black/rust ones. This would have to be my guess. Jet looks to be this age 17 mos. I do recall his owner said she felt he had stopped growing, and he looks about this age to me. I plan on taking my camera with me when I attend classes, so if Jet is at one of them again I will take a picture and share. I go to a lot of classes , but I don;t know how many Jet attends, I know he has been in the program for a while. Our classes are held in different parks and outdoor so you don't always see the same people and dogs. But I'm sure I will see him again.

Yes, Yogi's passing was a great loss. I'm glad to hear you were able to know him, PirateKitty and found your way here.
I'm sure you will run into Jet again, it'd be too much of a coincidence not to. What a small world in the scheme of things.
The classes you & Hunter attend sound like fun having them change up like that.

Yes its alot of fun with all the different breeds and places we meet at. This time of year can be too cold, and those are the ones we stay home and do our own work, but there is times when I bundle him up in one of his warm coats, ( my Husband says his jackets cost more that his, LOL. hes right they do) but its important to keep him warm durring those times. My training question never go unanswered, because we see a trainer every week. Its been the best investment Ive ever done for my dog. And I have met alot of wonderful dog owners.
