Hello,
We rescued our little baby about 3 years ago and kept her as nobody claimed her back. She is a staffy/american staffy/odd ball. She was in quite a bad state when we got her and lived in a cupboard for the first weeks, but over the time she learned to trust us and started to enjoy life again. In the three years we've had her she has made an impressive progress and we have turned her from a very afraid shadow of a dog who had never been in a house or on a lead, into a lively playmate. This has taken years of work and patience, but she's now housetrained and she enjoys human company. It is impossible for us to now think back to the time she would snatch food from your hand! She really had no manners! Hooch understands the commands sit/lie down/dead dog/toilet outside/here, and has a massive vocab. She does things reasonably promptly after being asked but likes to give it a moment so it seems like she's done it because she wanted to, not because you told her to.
She still doesn't like to be left alone though, is very demanding and needs a lot of attention and cuddles. Also, she strongly dislikes other pets and it is important to keep her away from other dogs when out walking. Even if she hasn't lived with kids she is very careful around them. She becomes deeply attatched to those who love her and she's now a very lively, affectionate and loving dog, has a strong personality and is very clever.
We moved to the Netherlands in September and we had originally the plan to take her with us, but it turned out now that we are not allowed to bring her as she has no papers - and Staffies without papers are classified as pit bulls here! After having tried every possibility we now have made the heart-breaking decision to look for a new home for her. It is especially hard after all we have been through with her, the time and work we invested and to see how much she has improved and that she enjoyed life again. We really hope we can find the good home she deserves. She needs as much stability as possible, gentle discipline and needs somebody who has lots of time and patience. A female owner or a home with females would be ideal as she bonds with female people much quicker. She is still traumatised from her first owner and she needs constant care and love. It has been immensely rewarding to get her to this stage, and we're hoping to find somebody now who will finish off the job we started!
She is currently in kennels in Manchester, originally waiting for the vaccines to kick in so she can leave the country  You can send an email to
