If it was me, I would continue feeding the dog, befriend it and try to bring it in my home. I would take the dog to the vets, get a clean bill of health, and try to find the dog a new loving home, or like most times keep the dog myself. If you are scared of the dog, or just do not rust the dog, I would contact your local shelter or humane society, prferably a no-Kill shelter, and they can socialize and re-home the dog!

Do you have a local shelter? If so, contact them.

Call your local animal control next time you see it. They can take it to a shelter where someone might be able to come in and give it a home.

Keep him. The best dog I ever had was a dog that I found just like that. For months I kept saying that I would get rid of her and she just grew on me. Besides, your dog could use a friend.

Animal shelter because they can take care of it or someone may adopt it.

Your best option is to immediately call animal control. That dog may have a disease or infection that may affect you. Set aside some food for the stray dog away from your dog so that way you won't feel guilty. Animal control will get him a proper home and family...perhaps even you!

Well, you can call the pound and have an animal control officer come take him away. Or, you can adopt him. Make nice with him. Take him to the vet to be checked out and work with both dogs so they can get to know each other and in no time they'll be best of friends =)

If you call your local animal control it can pick it up. Or catch it and take it to a local vet clinic. If all else fails, tie it up at a Fire Sration or police statrion somewhere were alot of people go, and someone will take care of it. Or if it were me, shoot it with a .22 and put it out of its missory

I had this problem when I lived in Texas, every time I walked my dog this stray dog followed us. Eventually it was jumping at my dog, e venthough it was friendly to me. I called animal services and they told me they did not have room for it, I went into a vet's office near my house and asked him what to do. He said if I gave him three days boarding he would keep the dog for three days and advertise it for adoption in the office. I did that. At the end of a period of time I know noone adopted it and I believe he put it to sleep. Here in Florida they ask if you can trap the dog until they get there and will come and pick it up.

i agree with Samuel b. just keep it. after a while of you feeding it and talking to it, it will learn to trust you. you may gain a new best friend and save its life. most dogs are put down pretty fast unless you take them to a no kill shelter.

You should call your local shelter or ascpa (somthing like that). THey will test him for diseases and help him get more used to people before letting him be adopted.
