Default My dog barked at a cat in a tree all night long. Who can I call to get rid of...

...stray cats around my house? I tried calling the fire department, but they said, "We don't do that anymore." I know that was silly, but I didn't know who to call to get a stray cat out of my tree. My dog barked at the cat all night long. Any suggestions on who I can call if this sort of thing happens again?

You need to learn to modify your dog's behavior. You cannot control the environment around you, but you can have control over how your dog behaves with the proper training. I am not a dog trainer, so I am not going to recommend anything, but the issue is the dog's behavior- not the cat in the tree. He needs to learn that barking all night is unacceptable. Do not use force or violence to accomplish this, though. There are many ways to deal with behavioral issues. Research some of them.

The problem isn't the cats. It's your dog. And guess who is responsible for your dog? You.

You should call your local animal control office. They'll take care of the problem.

OMG!! Please call a animal shelter or ASPCA to come and collect the cats. Many people try to trap the cats which by the way is horrible. Also check around with your neighbors just to check if the cats are theirs. If you have a computer go and research the shelter because some of them gas their pets if nobody adopts them or there is to many animals. By the way gassing isn't pretty they gas about 20 pets in one room all at once and dispose of them.
