when you are faced w/ an emminant attack that will kill thousands of american citizens and you have an evil man in captivity that has pertinant information that will help you stop that attack and he's not an American citizen, its okay to use a mild form of tourture like water boarding to get the info you need to stop the killing of inocient citizens... The Gov. has used this technique on some prisoners of this war and it s been very helpful in saving thousands of lives... If your not an American Citizen you are not protected by our laws... I'd rather be water boarded than have my head cut off by a dull knife and have it put on the web, like the terrorists do. You tell me which is worse.

If I'm not mistaken, the point is that if we think it's cruel to do that to a dog, why are (some of us) ok with doing it to people? The reactions were hilarious.

I'm not in favor of any kind of torture...any information gotten that way is suspect to the point of being useless and it totally destroys any moral credibility we might have had otherwise. So far our erstwhile 'leaders' have been unable to prove that any such tactics have led to verifiable information that saved anyone...although they claim it often enough in unsubstantiated speeches and conceal the truth under the guise of "national security". Beheading isn't too cool either...but two wrongs don't make paranoid, right-wing, war-mongering, neo-cons right.

the difference between using waterboarding on humans and animals is that animals dont keep secrets and certainly don't deserve the cruelty. I've seen some humans who deserve worse... it may have just been a troll trying to get the better of us but either way, i hope he doesn't ever lay hands on another dog.
