Default how to gain trust???

ok brief history i have been a dog owner and lover my whole life, im 32 and have had 10 dogs threw out my life. my last dog i had since he was 6 weeks old he was a dalmatian that lived a good life. i had to put him down about a month ago he had a blood clot and a stroke the vet said he wouldnt make it thru the night... he was my best friend in the whole world i will miss him more then life its self... anyway we adopted a 2y/o dog she is a shep/boxer/pit mix thats really scared and shy. the shelter just said that she was a stray that they had found so they couldnt tell us much about her other then how sweet she is... we have had her for 2 days all she does is lay on the floor next to the bed and pants. all tho she was just spayed 3 days ago maybe this could have something to do with it??? also she doesnt know any commands or out or anything but she has not messed in the hose so far.. i dont know i think she may have been a watch dog that didnt have much interaction with people that just got loose... also she really doesnt like treats so she all i can do is reward her by saying good girl and giving her a pat on the head... any tips info or help would be greatly appreciated...
