I am raising a 3 week old puppy. I've been doing my homework and have been
talking to experts, but I do have an some unanswered questions. Here it
goes:

I understand a puppy has to be slowly weaned off milk substitute. I am
wondering when they are introduced to soft food(mixed with substitute
ofcourse) will they eat until they are full or do you have to monitor
consumption. I find our pup just loves to eat and eat. When we do take her
away, she doesn't cry or whine, so im assuming she isn't still hungry.

Also, her meals are spread out 3 hours are so during the day, but she still
likes to wake up 2-3 times a night. Im wondering if she is still hungry,
because we do feed her when she wakes, and she goes back to sleep
immediately (after urinating)

I hope you are using puppy formula & not milk replacer. there is a difference

its time for puppy gruel. put a good quality puppy kibble for 1 zip in your blender, enough to break it down. add formula, some yogurt, & baby food chicken.

it is not a good idea to let her eat all she wants, that can really bloat her.

your vet should tell you how much to feed according to her weight.

Remember, a three week old puppy is similar to an infant...they are growing and developing by leaps and bounds in the first year of life. It is common for a small puppy to need to eat every few hours or so around the clock, just take a cue from a mother dog...she is nursing around the clock. Hang in there, it will get better.

I think you need to asked the vet if what is the right amount of your puppy should eat...just for assurance that what you gave to her is not too much...

Well, first of all, it is normal for a 3 week old puppy to be waking up several times at night. As LadyA said, they are similar to an infant/baby.
As for the feeding. Don't keep feeding your dog until they seem full as they will bloat. Ask your local vet to see what condition she is in for how much food.
