What if pet dog becomes stray dog
This is a wrenching scenario for all who care about animals. Once you've seen the dog, many feel it's too late to drive away from him or her. After all, what if your own dog or cat were standing there? So, before you pull over, use these guidelines for assisting animals safely and effectively.

is it betrayal?
this stray has been around for two yrs. Me only two months. everyone feeds her but she has not come near anyone. except me. she runs around the car lot where I work and runs from everyone now she lets me pet her and rub her belly and kiss her on the nose. she has staples in her belly. my boss says if i put a leash on her he will take her to have her shots and give her a good home. will she hate me if i put a leash on her? is that betrayal?

No thats not betrayal, thats helping her to get a good home and the care she needs. I'm sure she'll have a much better life with someone who cares for her than running the streets, where her life is in danger every day.

Stray dogs.
That's a hard one. I already have two beautiful girls who have been spayed, microchipped, have ID on their collars and are never out of my sight so, I don't worry about either of mine becoming strays.
As for taking in a stray, I would have to be realistic and admit that I simply could not afford a third dog and still pay for their medical insurance, the best possible food and treats, toys and chewies. On the other hand, I couldn't just let that poor dog roam free where it could be injured, poisoned or starve.
I would do my very best to find a good home for the stray. If that wasn't possible, I'd surrender the dog to a shelter where it would be safe and have a chance at finding a loving home.
